invited to send some of their pupils to come and join
us. We had a variety of speakers on the day, which
revolved around the theme of health and wellness.
We hope to turn this into an annual event that the
society hosts.
We also have started a new initiative where we
work with a group of teenage girls in Loerie. These
girls have faced different challenges in their lives
and have not always made the best decisions but in
our relation with them we seek to create an environment for these girls where there is no pressure of
the norms of the society we live in. We have talks
with these girls where we can relate to what they

open up and share their stories because we are also
teenagers. We hope to continue this initiative in the
future years to come. During the holidays we are
taking these girls to a Teenage girls’ workshop in
Jeffrey’s Bay.

During our Aids Awareness Week in May we had a
whole schedule planned. We had cake sales, Aids
