ZOONOSES SYMPOSIUM FOR ASIA PACIFIC

Knowledge and Skills for Addressing Emerging Infectious Disease at Convergence of Animal, Human and Environmental Health

The symposium was held in between the GHI short training course during 6-7 July 2018.

The main objective of the symposium was to strengthen international academic, research and operating collaboration for transferring knowledge, experiences, and taking appropriate action on food safety and zoonoses in the Asia Pacific region.

We provide opportunities for

young and expert researchers to share their research knowledge in various interesting themes; such as emerging and re-emerging diseases, antimicrobial resistance, application of risk analysis, epidemiological tools and application, and food safety and hygiene.

There are 108 participants who are young to mid-level university lecturer profession or a master or doctoral-level student from 14 countries:

students from 14 countries: Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, United State, and Vietnam. The DAAD Alumni Club Meeting is also included in this event.

80 members at present. Although a huge number of requests for membership are coming, all could not be

included as the restriction of the membership criteria.

The Veterinary Public Health Association for Asia Pacific (VPHAAP) has been established since 2010 and registered legally in Nepal in 2011. This club works as network of former DAAD alumni, MVPH alumni, German Professors, Thai Professors and researchers around the globe for the effective generation and dissemination of knowledge in Veterinary Public Health.

The DAAD Alumni Meeting was held on the 7th July 2018 after the symposium. The ultimate goal of this club is to link people who devoted to work in

the field of Veterinary Public Health from the region of Asia Pacific to
