The international symposium has been successfully conducted in every 2 years, the event brings our alumni to meet, exchange and provide new ideas and body of knowledge. Together with every level of researchers, the symposium also is a great opportunity for 165 participants who are lecturers, students, veterinarians, epidemiologist, scientists, and researchers, in Thailand and 18 countries to share and strengthen academic and research in food safety and zoonoses area in South East Asia and Asia region.

The 3rd International Congress on Pathogens at the Human-Animal Interface (ICOPHAI)

The Veterinary Public Health and Biotechnology (VPH-Biotec) Global Consortium launched the International Congress on Pathogens at the Human-Animal Interface (ICOPHAI) in order to address important challenges and needs for capacity building. The 3rd ICOPHAI congress is scheduled to be held at the heart of the South-eastern Asia in Chiang Mai, Thailand, a region known to be a hot spot for emerging zoonoses.

The Master of Veterinary Public Health (International Program) aims to produce graduates from Asia countries to have all-round competencies in Veterinary Public Health and create the network to control, prevent and resolve diseases caused by epidemic diseases, zoonoses and food hygiene, with an emphasis on quality control and safety of animal-origin food along the food production including environmental hygiene in region level. The curriculum encourages the student-centered atmosphere and concentrates on universal knowledge to resolve the problems in their own countries and region.

This was the 2nd year of the OIE Veterinary Educational Twinning Program, that 5 veterinary students and 2 instructors from Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Chiang Mai University spent time and experienced in USA field work during 6 – 24 July 2015, and 5 veterinary students, 1 resident coordinator and 1 instructor from University of Minnesota also had opportunity to exchange their experiences, knowledge and fulfilled Abattoirs and Veterinary Public Health – Clerkship in Chiang Mai University, Thailand during 17 August – 4 September 2015.
