What are the key accomplishments of

the VPHCAP?

1. The establishment of Master of Veterinary Public Health

(MVPH) program

Veterinary Public Health Centre for Asia Pacific has collaborated with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Freie Universität Berlin (FU-Berlin), Germany to manage and conduct the joint Master program in Veterinary Public Health (International Program) which has been accepted and accredited by AHPGS (Accreditation Agency for study Programmes in Special Education, Care, Health Sciences and Social Work) since October 2005. At present there are 58 graduates in MVPH alumni network, from 5 batches and from 15 countries in Asia Pacific.

Now, this program has developed its curriculum for the Master of Science Program in Veterinary Science (International Program).

2. International conferences conducted by VPHCAP

The VPHCAP has been organizing an international symposium in order to develop a new body of knowledge in food safety and zoonoses and as well as to strengthen health awareness which keeps increasing in countries. The event, which is conducted every 2 years, serves as a venue for students, graduates, specialists and the academe to present researches as well as share academic and professional experiences in relation to veterinary public health.

3. The center of workshops and

academic services

It has been 10 years of VPHCAP which continually organizes a number of workshops and academic services in order to develop public health veterinarians’ capacities. To accomplish and benefit, those activities were supported and collaborated from government sectors, University Network in Thailand, private organizations and funds in order to develop public health in communities, social and country abilities.

The activities of the VPHCAP are conducted in collaboration with government sectors, the Thailand One Health University Network and various private organizations which have the common goal of developing of public health for the benefit of communities.

At present, the One Health concept has been developed and put into many activities by the Thailand One Health University Network or THOHUN with the assistance of the VPHCAP. Such activities were created through the cooperation of associates from both from universities in Thailand and overseas. VPHCAP also has opportunity of working with Ecohealth-One Health Resource Centre (EHRC) to develop Ecohealth research and academic service. In addition, VPHCAP and University of Minnesota are collaborating to create International Master of Public Health Program in Global One Health (iMPH) and International Joint Residency Program in Veterinary Public Health as well.
