VPHCAP Policy Brief
The faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Chiang Mai University (CMU) has collaborated with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Freie Universitaet Berlin (FU-Berlin), Germany since 1999 to conduct activities regularly with researchers and experts from various countries. This aims to establish the center status of the university in veterinary public health, a multidisciplinary science which tackles issues related to food of animal origin, disaster prevention in zoonoses, and academic ability of trade negotiation in the international stage.
The intensive study of Global Health Institute focusing on One Health Leadership is a necessary part of the solution to help protect and save untold numbers of lives in our present and future generations. The course is designed to explore leadership in the context of ‘one health’ including technical capacity to ensure preparedness for new and emerging public health challenges, and identify opportunities for fostering collective action for the benefit of public health, food security, animal health and ecosystem health.
