Sylvi
Sylvi volunteers by befriending and chatting with residents and organising coffee
mornings and activities.
Volunteering has not only made a huge difference to her life but also to the life of one of the
residents, Harold.
Harold explains:
“
I am partially sighted and I used to be an artist but had to stop many years
ago when my sight went. Sylvi knew I was an artist so out of the blue she
bought me a sketch pad and pencils.
“
“And, initially I thought I wouldn’t be able to draw but didn’t want to let her down so
I started scribbling. I found that in my own way I can draw again which I hadn’t
managed for twenty years.”
“
With Sylvi’s encouragement and support, a big door has now been
opened for me and it has made a great difference to my life.
