Peter
Peter recently moved into an independent living flat in Abbeyfield and wanted more
opportunities to meet people and get out and about in his local community.
He now volunteers at the local Stroke Club which enables him to meet more people.
Peter volunteers on a weekly basis, mainly spending time talking and playing dominoes
with the group.

This volunteering role has helped me socially and I always look forward to
it and seeing the same guys each week.
“
Peter would like to see more men taking the opportunity to support each other in their local communities.
“
It’s mutual, I’m helping them and they are helping me. It gets them out of
the house but it also does me good for the same reason.
“
