Playful m e d i tat i o n
A play-dough meditation, by Andrew Harrison
First, turn your play-dough into a heart
and tell God in the moment what is there
pray
Turn your play dough into a cross and thank
the Lord that he has those things in control
pray
It says in Isaiah that there will be a day that
the sword will turn into ploughshare. Turn your
play-dough into a symbol of violence and
pray for those who are perpetrators of war.
Pray for God’s mercy over them and a new
heart
pray
Now turn your play-dough into a symbol
of change (it could be a ploughshare, or
something that you feel is positive). If
you feel prompted by the Holy Spirit,
share what you have made and thank
God for it
pray
Place your play-dough on the ground in front
of you and pray for those who are empty, for
those who suffer from poverty, and
those who suffer from loneliness
pray
Pick up your play-dough and create a
symbol of unity and thank God for the
different faith communities who help bring
that change. Thank God for the Body of Christ
and pray that it will continue to bring relief to
those who need it.
pray
Turn your play-dough into a dream you have
pray
Then turn that play-dough into your understanding of what God looks like and thank
God that when we rejoice in him, he will
give us the desires of our heart
