What would you define as a Woman Warrior ? A woman warrior to me possesses hard working skills , strength , determination and resilience . She perseveres with aggression no matter the obstacles faced , while striving to master everyday life ’ s challenges . She sacrifices selflessly to achieve her goals while not giving up and living her life like it ’ s golden .
What Obstacles did you overcome to get to where you are today ? I overcame a lot of changes while growing up . I grew up in a small town with very strict parents and a tight family circle ; which drastically changed when my parents divorced and forced me to move with one of them to a big city . Being a teen mom at the age of 16 definitely impacted me as well . I overcame a still born birth in 1999 and a miscarriage in 2014 . I ’ ve also dealth with discrimination , racism and sexual assaults as an African American female caregiver and Business Owner .
What are your current endeavors and future goals ? I am the CEO and caregiver at Angels of Care , where I take care of Veterans / Elderly . I ’ m one of the proud Amazon # 1 Best Selling Authors for collaborating on a book called , Girlz Run The World In Pearls . What would you define as a Woman Warrior ? A Woman Warrior can be defined as one who is engaged aggressively or energetically in an activity , cause , or conflict . If I am a Woman Warrior , and I want to think that I am , then what is my weapon of choice . For me , that is a pen . The pen is mightier than the sword is a metonymic adage indicating that communication , particularly written communication is a more effective tool than any direct interaction .
What inspired you to become the woman that you are today ? If I think about what inspired me to become the woman I am today , I really need to say WHO . As much as I had a contentious relationship with my biological mother , much of who I am is because of her . If nothing else , I have spent most of my life being a success because she told me that I would not . The things that I did not find in her , I looked for in life – love , marriage , career , and being the best mother that I could be . I did not always succeed every time , but I kept trying .
What word of advice would you like to share ? My only word of advice is to find the PASSION in your life . By that , I mean , if you did not have to work for money to pay bills , what would you do for free . People who tell me that I am living my best life , I tell them that I am living my most passionate life . n
