Talent & Ideas : YouTransform
Prachi Jain is a final year sudent of Business Administration and a Reebok Certified Fitness trainer.
We spoke to her about her Fitness Consultancy
start-up YouTransform and this is what she had
to say.
So, how did it all start? Tell us something
about you and your business.
YouTransform began in April 2014. It all started
when a close friend asked me if I could help him
lose weight and I was more than happy to help. After he saw great results, I thought maybe I should
take on official clients and turn my passion into a
business.
I work as a Fitness Consultant to help clients
achieve their health and fitness goals by providing
sustainable solutions based on individual needs.
Why do you do what you do?
I struggled with my weight for almost 9 years. I
spent a lot of money on nutritionists and tried every diet and workout plan under the sun. But never
saw l ong lasting results. There are so many people
who face the exact same problem. After years of
research and testing, I finally found that balance
for myself and realized what works and what
doesn’t. Fitness and weight-loss information out
there is endless and very scattered. I wanted to
make sure that others don't have to go through the
same maze of confusion that I often stumbled into.
So, I started YouTransform, with the aim of providing people with a customized path to wellness.
What motivated you and what motivates you
now?
What motivated me then was the drive to help others facing the same issues I did. Now when I get
messages from clients saying ‘I can fit into my old
jeans again’ or ‘I feel so energetic and healthy now’,
this really motivates me to keep doing what I do,
knowing that I can make a positive difference in
someone’s life.
Who is your role model and why?
My role model is Oprah Winfrey because she
is the perfect personification of courage, grit,
compassion, love and ambition. What inspires
me the most about her is that she didn't let
her circumstances define her reality. She was
not financially privileged, was abused as a
child and was an African- American at a time
when it was a sin to be black in the American
entertainment Industry. Yet she didn't let any
of these put a dent in her dreams and changed
countless lives on her journey to success. I really admire her.
What is your philosophy towards you
work?
I read somewhere that ‘All work is a chance to
influence the world, all work is a chance to
express your gifts and your talents, all work is
a chance for you to pursue immortality’ and
this is what my mantra is when it comes to
work. I believe that through work one grows
personally and professionally so it is important to learn and find ways of enjoying
what you do.
