In a recent national survey, 61% of American Catholics said homosexual couples should have a right to marry. That percentage is up from 41% in 2010. Laws of Lenten Fast and Abstinence Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and the Fridays during Lent are days of abstinence from meat for all Catholics 14 years of age and older. In addition to abstinence, fasting is to be observed by all Catholics between the ages of 18-59 years on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. On days of fasting, one full meal is allowed. Two smaller meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to one’s needs, but together they should not equal another full meal. Lenten Seafood Supper at Visitation of Our Lady Church The Men’s Club is sponsoring its Annual Lenten Seafood Supper each Friday during Lent. Dine-In or Take-Out from 5-8 p.m. in the VOL cafeteria. Drinks & Desserts also available for purchase. This traditional journey to Calvary, using the texts from Holy Scripture, has been a consolation and source of faith and grace to many. The Church grants to those who participate in the Way of the Cross a plenary indulgence.
