Illinois

The proposed regulation limiting anglers to 10 native rough fish per person during bowfishing tournaments has been repealed. Tournaments will be regulated by the Department of Natural Resources on a case by case basis if the popu-lations are determined to be in decline.

Tournaments will still require permitting by the tournament directors, and filing reports of tourna-ment catches, but this new rule applies to all forms of fishing tournaments.

Good news for the state of Illinois! Thanks to all who helped to prevent this legislation from passing.
