Movie Review: How toTrain Your Dragon 2

he magnificent How to Train Your Dragon 2
is a very good movie, especially if you are
interested in Vikings and fantasy. The
movie is suitable for kids 8 years old and
older.
This movie helped me understand a bit more about
Vikings. The movie captured the lives of Viking, as
all the buildings and dragon saddles were made
from wood, stone, and/or metals. There was no
electricity at this time, so the use of tools and
machines in the movie was very interesting.
Before you see this one, it would help if you have
watched the first movie. The first movie is about a
Viking boy name Hiccup in a dragon hunter town,
Berk, who befriended with a young dragon, and
soon discovered his potential of being a dragon
trainer and tried to stop people from hunting them.
In the second movie, Hiccup and his dragon,
Toothless, discover an Iceland and encountered
dragon trackers. The dragon trackers worked for
the evil Drago Bludvist, who is trying to build a
dragon army and conquer the world. It was up to
Hiccup and his friends to bring peace.
There are many twists in this movie. (Spoil alert for
those who don’t want to know!) For example,
Hicupp found his long lost mother, Valka, when he
accidentally dropped into her sanctuary. Soon
enough, Hiccup’s father, Stoick, traces Hiccup in
Valka’s sanctuary. The family’s reunion was cut
short by Drago’s attack.
I liked this movie up until the part where Toothless
was brainwashed and commanded by the Alpha
Dragon to kill Hiccup. Stoick just pushes him out of
the way making Toothless kill him instead of
Hiccup. I would say this movie could’ve been
improved if they hadn’t made Stoick die in a tragic
way.
This movie would deserve an A and I would give it
4.8 out of 5. I have learned so much about kindness
and persistence from this movie. The main
character, Hiccup always kept trying for his
dreams. I would suggest this movie for people 6 to
50 years old. Most kids would want to keep going
back to this movie for years. The movie has a lot of
good actions, but some kids may learn more from it
than others.
So if you hadn’t watched this movie yet, please do
so ASAP!
