Cecil has passed on! This lion is no more! He has ceased to be! He’s expired and gone to meet his maker! He’s a stiff! Bereft of life, he rests in peace! If you hadn't skinned him and made him into a rug he'd be pushing up the daisies! His metabolic processes are now history! He’s off the plain! He’s had his bucket kicked, He's shuffled off his mortal coil, run down the mountain and joined the bleeding choir invisible!! HE IS AN EX-LION!!
There were more angry scenes on social media this week, as people got worked up over another disgusting slaying. It seems a white American man is in trouble for killing what turned out to be a much-loved apex predator, rather than a young black person from a poor neighbourhood. Such is the indignation that I can only recommend that poor black people in the US start dressing as lions. White people will still be scared of you and want to kill you, but at least there will be some decent outrage when you’re bagged. #LionLivesMatter
