Getting Here &

AROUND

Jamestown is a pleasant 3 hour drive on sealed roads from Adelaide . Halfway between the city and the Flinders Ranges , Jamestown is the perfect place for a welcome break in your journey . There are many different routes to try , each with its own charms .
From Adelaide :
Via the Clare Valley : Head out of Adelaide on the Northern Expressway . Bypass Gawler towards Tarlee and continue through to the towns of SA ’ s famous Clare Valley wine region - Auburn , Watervale , Sevenhill and Clare . Head north of Clare on Horrocks Highway , turn right to Spalding on RM Williams Way . Keep heading north and when Bundaleer Forest comes into view you know you are nearly at Jamestown .
Via Mallala , Balaklava & Blyth : Exit Pt Wakefield Road to Mallala and its war memorial anchoring the intersection of several local roads . On to Balaklava , Blyth , Clare and Spalding , where rolling hills form a backdrop to crops of canola , barley , wheat and hay .
Via Port Wakefield & Crystal Brook : Stay on the dual-laned Port Wakefield Highway through to Port Wakefield , then take the sweeping bend right towards Lochiel with its enormous salt lakes and Jitter Bean oasis . Turn off the highway at Crystal Brook and keep heading east towards Jamestown via Gladstone .
From the Flinders Ranges via Hawker & Orroroo : Travel through vast pastoral landscapes and when you get to Orroroo check out the kangaroo sculptures before you head onto Jamestown .
via Quorn , Melrose & Caltowie : Get closer to stunning Mt Remarkable while driving through the pretty towns of Melrose and Wirrabara . Head east after Stone Hut to Caltowie and Jamestown .
From the Eastern States
Drive through the historic mining town of Burra , past famous Merino sheep studs . Follow the wind turbines along the ridge tops of Mt Bryan and Hallett all the way to Jamestown .
