Clare Valley
Just 45 minutes from Jamestown is the
Clare Valley, one of Australia’s great
wine regions. Opportunities for tastings
abound. Visit the boutique brewery Hop
& Vine or taste a truffle at Sugar Rush.
Take a step back in history on a tour of
historic Sevenhill Cellars, founded by
the Austrian Jesuits in 1851. The tour
takes in Sevenhill’s underground cellar,
old-vine vineyards, St Ignatius of Loyola
Shrine and St Aloysius Church with its
underground crypt.
Bring your bike (or rent one) and follow
the famed Riesling Trail, cycling between
cellar doors. Visit majestic colonial
homes such as Martindale Hall, or ‘lose’
your kids in the Mintaro Maze.
At Spalding spot fly fishermen catching
trout and Murray cod in the Broughton
River.

Port Pirie
Port Pirie’s stunning location combines
the beauty of the Spencer Gulf
waterfront with the rolling hills of the
Southern Flinders Ranges. Frolic on the
foreshore at Solomontown.
Shop till you drop, stock up on Spencer
Gulf seafood, relax over a coffee or enjoy
the Keith Michell Theatre, museums and
‘A’ class art gallery. A shark exhibition,
miniature and model railways are some
of the more unique attractions. Tour Port

Burra - Historic
Mining Town
Copper found in Kapunda in 1838
shaped the early history of the region.
Within 30 years, Burra’s Monster Mine
was the world’s biggest mine.
Burra has 49 historic sites over an
11km driving trail – highlights include
the Monster Mine area, Redruth Gaol,
the underground Unicorn Brewery and
the Dugouts.
Return to Jamestown via Hallett and see
wind towers effortlessly turning in the
