New Candidates Completion of Service
We are extremely excited to introduce these
newly accepted candidates preparing to serve with
Global Interaction. Richard and Maxine
Richard and Maxine first felt God’s call for overseas
mission service in 1994. They were accepted as
candidates in 2011 and during that intervening period
they travelled to Thailand several times through which
they developed a love for Thailand and its people.
Gary and Shirley, NSW
Gary and Shirley are preparing to serve in Malawi through
Project Timothy, teaching at the Baptist Theological
Seminary of Malawi. They have previously undertaken
several trips through Project Timothy to Malawi, Zambia
and India. The have over 20 years pastoral ministry
experience with Gary currently the Senior Minister at
Wellington Baptist Church.
Richard and Maxine commenced Global Interaction
service in Thailand in March 2013.
During their time of service they performed a number
of roles, Richard administrative work for the Mission’s
Thailand Team and was the contact for Global Xposure
teams from Australia. Maxine taught English to local
primary school children and some school teachers.
Together they tutored Grace and Daniel, Dema and
Carolyn’s children, for several years.
They made their home and worked in the rural farming
community at Ban Luang. Richard and Maxine supported
team members working in the villages and assisted with
running fellowship groups. At training days for local
leaders of fellowship groups both Richard and Maxine had
the privilege of leading some sessions.
Peter and Julie-Ann, NSW
Peter and Julie-Ann (pictured above) have been on a long
journey of discernment and are now preparing to serve
as long-term support workers with a Global Interaction
cross-cultural team. They have participated in and led
numerous Global Xposure trips. Julie-Ann has previously
worked at the NSW/ACT State Office and currently sits
on the Global Interaction Task Force. Peter serves within
the Global Mission team a their local church, NewHope
Baptist Church, Kellyville and has a background in
electrical engineering.
New Staff
Andrea Fleming
Global Interaction has
welcomed Andrea Fleming into
the role of Partner Engagement
and Communications Manager.
After ten years of working with
the international seafaring
community, she brings her own
experience of cross-cultural
ministry and communications
to the team.
Richard and Maxine completed service with Global
Interaction in September 2017.
We thank God for the service to His kingdom by Richard
and Maxine who encouraged people who had not heard
the Good News of Jesus Christ to follow Him.
Janie Alcock
Janie began as Communications Manager in March
2012. Since joining us, Janie has been an enthusiastic,
talented and highly committed ambassador for Global
Interaction lifting the quality of all our publications and
communications resources.
In early 2016, Janie became Partnership and
Communications Manager. She was an important and
respected member of the Mobilisation, Partnership and
Development Team whose love for Jesus and the mission
and ministry of Global Interaction shines through in
everything she has done with us.
Janie concluded her service with Global Interaction in
May 2017. We wish her and Toby well in all their future
endeavours.
