We had the chance to catch up with professional kiteboarder and filmmaker Bas Koole and ask him a couple questions .
Recently Bas Koole worked on the biggest Kiteboarding film to date , “ Chapter One ”. On top of being a very talented man begind the lens , he is also one infornt , riding for the Airush Pro Team .
“ What was it like being behind the lens on whats being claimed as the greatest kiteboarding film ever made ?”
It was great working on Chapter One . The part ’ s I ’ ve been filming are the Brazil and King of the Air part in Cape Town . It was my first time shooting with the RED camera ’ s , what was a great experience . To record the best tricks in the world on the best camera possible , was a dream come true . Working with the production crew , shooting my friends Youri Zoon , Carlos Mario “ Bebe ”, Bruna Kajiya and Liam Whaley , in Brazil was pretty sweet .
Cape Town is always an amazing location to shoot , especially during King of the Air , where it all happens . I was shooting long lens during the event , so the crashes where the guy went knock out was intens to film . To see it so close up , but still be far away and unable to do anything were harsh moments .
