Their latest, the Smart Sole wedges, come in two very simple designs. The 58-degree “S” offering eases the process of escaping bunkers and hitting lob TaylorMade shots, while the 42-degree “C” helps golfers play greenside SLDR iron chip shots with more consistency. The latter is like chipping with a wide-soled 9-iron. Both of these sleek satin chromefinished Smart Sole models sport the company’s widest wedge sole to date, which helps prevent excess digging in turf and sand on a consistent basis. The sole’s shaping lends consistency, regardless of the repetitiveness of your motion. These wedges are particularly useful in curbing inconsistent shots and mis-hits around the green. Their aggressive groove design helps with control. The increased loft and CG combination results in long-carrying shots. Unlike the original SLDR products, the latest have silver clubheads and no adjustable lofts. They do, however, feature the sliding sole weight that aids golfers in tuning their ball flight right and left. Meanwhile, SLDR irons feature a classic clubhead shape, size and finish, plus a distance-enhancing, twomillimeter-wide slot behind the thin clubface in the mid- and long irons that minimizes impact vibration.
