On a Mission Lorena Ochoa will play in The American Legends Classic for Mountain Mission Kids in September .
AMERICAN LEGENDS CLASSIC
Eight years ago , The Olde Farm in Bristol hosted the Big 3 , a charity tournament featuring Arnold Palmer , Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player that raised more than $ 15 million for Mountain Mission School , the largest single-day charitable total in PGA Tour history .
Now , Olde Farm founder Jim McGlothlin is thinking even bigger .
On Sept . 10 , The Olde Farm will host The American Legends Classic for Mountain Mission Kids , a charitable tournament that offers patrons the chance to watch — and even play alongside — 10 iconic sports personalities .
The event ’ s all-star roster includes golf greats Nicklaus , Player , Lee Trevino , Betsy King , Tim Finchem , Lanny Wadkins and Lorena Ochoa ; retired NFL quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Dan Marino ; and retired NBA great Jerry West .
Proceeds from the event will benefit Mountain Mission School in Grundy , an accredited non-profit school that provides stability , shelter , nourishment and a high-quality education for at-risk children from throughout the U . S . and the world .
