Volunteers Open Day
Open Day Sunday, 18 June
The open day proved to be a
really excellent event, which
included speeches from
the Chief Constable Peter
Goodman, ACC Chris Haward
and PCC Hardyal Dhindsa,
highlighting the valuable
contribution volunteers bring
to policing.
Following the event PSV
Martin Gibbons sent this
message to Laura Bennett,
the Central PSV Co-ordinator:
The force celebrated volunteers week by inviting its volunteers
to attend an Open Day, with demonstrations from Roads
Policing, Task Force and Firearms among others. Volunteers
from across the organisation attended, including Specials,
PSVs, Cadets, Independent Custody Visitors, Chaplains and
the Independent Advisory Group.
“Firstly thanks to all of you
who had the mammoth job
of organising all the people,
location, refreshments and equipment to be
in the right place at the right time, absolutely
sterling work. You deserve to give yourselves
a major pat on the back for everything going
so smoothly on the day.”
“Then a massive thanks to all of you who
gave up your time to make it a great day for
us and our families.”
