BY THE NUMBERS 500 porte aperte open house Attendees at the Porte Aperte event 400 Feet of coloured pennant string that decorated the campus Villa Charities Foundation welcomed the entire community to a fun-filled day of free activities and special events at the inaugural Porte Aperte / Open House event in September 2018. 195 Wood-fired pizzas served 6 Over 500 people of all ages attended the event, held to showcase facilities, programs and services offered throughout the Villa Charities campus. Activities were hosted at the Columbus Centre, Villa Colombo Toronto, apartments for independent seniors and child care centres. They included pop-up fitness classes, interactive dance demonstrations, rock climbing, face painting, a soccer challenge, bingo, a bouncy castle, arts and crafts, Italian musical performances and more. VILLA CHARITIES FOUNDATION ANNUAL REPORT Wood-fired pizza at Sala Caboto and food trucks serving other foods were offered during the afternoon-long event, which was held to thank members of the Italian-Canadian community and the broader community for their continued support. All attendees were eligible to enter a contest for a grand prize package including gift cards for cultural programs, Ristorante Boccaccio, and a six-month General Membership to the Columbus Centre Athletic Club. The Open House generated great interest in Villa Charities services, ranging from child care to seniors’ apartments. 7
