VILLA CHARITIES Cultural Programming Villa Charities reinforced its place as a GTA leader in Italian cultural programming during 2019, adding new events and building upon popular ongoing programs. Villa Al Fresco New for 2019, VCI launched the “Villa Al Fresco” summer programming series. The series helped create a vibrant, eventfilled season for our community, with the “Cinema al Fresco” outdoor screenings of classic Italian movies, Ballo Liscio (Social Dancing), Pizza Nel Parco (Pizza in the Park) outdoor dining events, a family fun Carnival Day, a pop-up summer market and an Italian Family Trivia Night. Pop-Up Art Installation The Columbus Centre hosted a pop-up art installation by a talented, young Italian Canadian artist, Sara Della Guarda. Della Guarda’s “IMPACT: A Dialogue on Art & Memory,” discussed the topics of Alzheimer’s and dementia through an interactive art installation. 22 | Consolidated Annual Report 2019
