Why a New Field?
Development of the Whole Child is a hallmark of a Villa education,
and part of that child is physical! Research is proving that young
bodies need to expend their restless energy to increase focus in the
classroom. The installation of a new turf Multipurpose Field is a longtime dream that will finally come true and give us:
• A true home-field that all of our athletes from K to 8 can call their
own and is regulation size for games
• Expanded P.E. classes, recess, and sports opportunities
• A large, flat surface for any number of classroom projects,
experiments, and after school clubs
• A resource for the neighborhood and CYO, bringing more people to
our campus
• Yet another important development to make the most of our
spectacular 31-acre campus
The field will be the first component of the campaign because it has
to be built all at once. The cost is reflective of several factors: the site
being a difficult one on a hill; wanting to maintain our campus integrity
with minimal tree loss; needing a complete drainage solution; and
installation of an environmentally safe turf.
