It seems that while fashion should be a personal matter, many people aren’t afraid to lash out after those who endorse the replica community, and buy its products – do you have any last words or final comments to these type of persons, who hate on the community you represent?

I think people who lash out, call out or whatever you want to call it, just don’t see the whole picture. They might be brought up in a home, where they could get anything they wanted, or maybe they are just used to the idea, that you HAVE to buy the exact item from the seller directly, or through a stockiest. And in that perspective I can see why some people lash out at others, because they’re told by either the media, the stores or the designers themself, that when you don’t buy their product, then it’s stealing their money (which is completely false by the way). Just because I don’t pay $700 for a pair of Rick Owens Ramones, doesn’t mean that I take $700 directly from Rick himself. I just choose to not give him the money, but I might later on if I liked the reps that I bought so much, that I want the real deal.

I hope this interview sheds a light on another perspective of the fashion community, hopefully in a more positive light, because (most of the time) we aren’t people who try to flex high end designer reps and pass them off as real items, or to sell them as real items. Sadly there is a very small number of people, who take the advantage of communities like ours to find the best replicas and then sell them as legit items for a legit pricing.

We try to ban these people while still warning people about this and spreading helpful information about replicas. There’s users in the community who do comparisons of real designer items and their fake counterparts, which educates people on how to tell a fake apart from a legit item and avoid getting scammed.

With this interview, VIA magazine hoped to shed some light on the other side of the tunnel. Replica fashion is growing more popular as the days are passing by, and it is simply a matter of discussion we felt we cannot ignore. We thank Marcus for his time and and respect his position, but would also like to take a moment to state that we as a magazine, hold no support towards the activities of the illegal replica market, and this article is not ment as advertisement for this matter. Whether one chooses to purchase and wear replicas however, we will not hold grudges against.
