This edition has concentrated on
Theriogenology. Dr Kurt de Cram-
er has completed his PhD and his
findings are published in a con-
densed version of his article. Addi-
tionally Dr Kate May, of the Theri-
ogenology Section at the Faculty
has summarised all the tests availa-
ble to the veterinarian for the eval-
uation of breeding status, timing of
caesarean sections and checking
for ovarian remnant syndrome in dogs and cats. •
The article on the conservative management of disc dis-
ease is important in my opinion as financial constraints
in our clients is a reality and conservative treatment may
be the route chosen in more cases. This course can
be successful, but as indicated in the article, the pro-
cess has to be well managed and the client properly
informed. Once again client communication is vital for
proper results.
When I summarised the article on feline nutrition I was
surprised at how much is different in the cat, and at how
much basic physiology I had forgotten. Physiology and
anatomy set the tone for everything just as form should
follow function with furniture and buildings.
We have created an INDEX of the articles published in
the Vet 360 over the past three years. They are indexed
according to system. This should help with your filing
and subsequent access to information. We will update it
twice a year in January and June.
