Total mandibulectomy: The surgical removal of one
mandible and surrounding soft tissues; also called a
unilateral mandibulectomy (Figure 11). Partial maxillectomy: Surgical removal (en bloc) of part
of the maxilla and/or other facial bones and surrounding
soft tissues; also called a unilateral rostral maxillectomy
(Figures 12A-12H).
