Well the year is already running away with us - one needs to dig heels in , take control of our time and take a breather !
In this edition we are discussing anti-epileptic drugs ( AED ). With the recent ACVIM consensus on Management of Seizuring Dogs which was published in the Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine and the availability of imepitoin ( Pexion ®) now in SA we have more choice in our AED therapy .
Also in this edition is an article on epidural anaesthesia which has been reviewed by Gareth Zeiler . This is an important part of post-operative pain management and we look forward to some more articles on local and regional blocks for specific procedures from Dr Zeiler .
Dr Zambelli has also briefly outlined the more modern approach to management of squamous cell carcinoma in dogs and cats - so no more just getting in and cutting out as first step !
