Venetian Golf Club Newsletter December 2018 | Page 2

On behalf of the staff at Venetian Golf Club, we would like to wish everyone a happy holiday and thank the Membership for their continued support throughout the past year. It has been a year filled with change and the new year brings with it uncertainty. Through it all, you have been wonderful in how your treat and look out for the hard-working staff that works at Venetian Golf Club. As the magical month of December is upon us, let your hearts be filled with joy and happiness. An example of our Members’ giving nature is the Club’s Angel Tree Program. The Angel Tree, sponsored by the Sarasota Boys & Girls Club, is a holiday assistance program in which a Venetian Member may fulfill the wishes of a child in need by purchasing the holiday gift that the child has asked for. The many angels that adorned our Club’s holiday tree with wishes of children in need, were claimed within 10 days by our generous Members. A look at the bounty of gifts already dropped off in Beverly’s office will make your hearts warm. Please remember to return your unwrapped gifts and tags to Venetian Golf Club by Monday, December 10. On another note about giving, a warm and sincere thank you to the Membership for your support of the Annual Employee Holiday Fund. Monies from the holiday fund are shared with all the hourly staff at the Club. I have witnessed reactions from our staff upon receiving this gift from the Membership. All of the staff at Venetian Golf Club, thanks you for your warmth and generosity. Some changes in golf will begin in December. The Monday shotgun is being replaced by tee times beginning at 10:03am on Monday, December 10. The purpose is to provide the golf maintenance team a better opportunity to keep the golf course is great shape. Also, the Adopt-A-Hole program, aimed at assisting in maintaining our golf course, still has openings for this program. This voluntary program allows our Members to pick a convenient hole to do a “little extra” in helping to maintain good playing conditions. Please call the golf shop at (941) 441-2294 for information on available openings. PAT CATTANACH Thank you to those who participated in the Town Hall meeting held on November 28. It was good to see so many of you in attendance. Your participation was much appreciated and the dialogue between you, Tony Burdett with Lennar, and Dennis Colletti with ICON Management was informative. I would like to remind all Members that your 2019 dues have been billed to your Member accounts and are due to be paid in full by December 31, 2018. You may make dues payments online, by mail, or by contacting Beverly Wilson at (941) 441-2291. December brings an abundance of activities and events for all to enjoy! The Club has its traditional holiday tournaments, Candy Cane Classic and the Ladies Holiday Scramble, while the clubhouse is filled with festive seasonal events. Please view more details of upcoming events in this newsletter! As I near my first year at Venetian Golf Club, I want to let you know how impressed I am with the care and concern you display to the staff at the Club. You truly personify my idea of what makes a Golf Club successful—its people! As a last reminder, my door is always open. Please feel free to stop by for a visit, offer a suggestion or share your Club experience with me. Your feedback is always welcomed and appreciated. Please Welcome New Members Sean & Kristi Gerathy
