Zagat 6th Edition America’s Top Golf Courses has listed Venetian Golf Club’s
18-hole par 72 masterpiece as “a must-play in the Venice/Sarasota area.”
Venetian has also received a Four Star Rating for Golf Digest’s “Best Places
to Play” 2008/2009 as well as placed fourth in Golf Advisor’s Top 25 Golf
Courses to play in Florida in 2014. Treat yourself to Sarasota County’s most
dynamic golfing experience complete with panoramic scenery to captivate
every player. Venetian is the only golf course in the area designed by
renowned golf course architect Chip Powell. The design pays homage to the
early masters of golf architecture, like Ross and MacKenzie, by presenting
players with an abundance of strategic options that test both the mental and
physical elements of the wonderful game of golf.
One of the unique design features of our Venetian golf course is its’
inclement weather tolerance. This is due to superior subsurface drainage
that traps and filters rain water, then transfers it to one of our many lakes.
In addition, our soil profile promotes just enough runoff that surface water
quickly dissipates. So when other courses in Southwest Florida are closed
or “cart path only” when summer rains fall, Venetian is open for your
enjoyment.
Venetian’s 18-hole, par 72 masterpiece features generous fairways framed
with natural looking berms, strategically located bunkers and an abundance
of grass hollow hazards that are configured in a manner to make forced
carries optional.
The course features eight sets of tee markers ranging from 5,000 to almost
7,000 yards accentuated by pristine TifEagle greens.
