"Kuuipo", what a great song! If you haven’t heard it yet you should. It is truly beautiful in true style by The Honorifics.
It has an added touch of significance for me. You see, from a very young age I remember wanting to play the guitar but I was so small I couldn’t reach around the instrument.
My Grandfather, seeing my desire and determination, and being a musician decided to buy me a ukulele. I loved it, playing often, and was even asked by my teacher and classmates at school to play a Hawaiian song. My Grandpa also loved Hawaiian music and I remember listening to great Hawaiian artists growing up.
Imagine how it was thrilling to discover, on stage at The Smith Center, that my ukulele was the first ukulele to play this beautiful venue. Now, not only is Kuuipo an award winning song, it is on an award winning album and my ukulele will be heard for generations.
The Honorifics are a bunch of sweethearts that share love and fun with everyone.
