GONE LOOPY Throat Hit : Mild
It can be difficult to balance the botanical flavour of CBD with a fully-realised e-liquid profile and even more so with high-strength formulations . CBD Asylum have been particularly ambitious with Gone Loopy , which is a CBD-infused fruit loops cereal blend . A well-balanced citrus medley is the top note here . There ’ s hints of lemon , lime and even bergamot . They ’ re candied , but not overly artificial and bring an almost juicy mouth-feel to the mix . This top note is backed up by a silky-smooth cream base , which further elevates the fruit component , adding body . There also seems to be a subtle hint of meringue in the mix , which further contributes to the mild sweetness of this e-liquid . There are , of course , some botanical notes , though they do not detract from the flavour and perhaps even enhance it !
SWEET TOOTH Throat Hit : Mild
Described as a strawberries and custard blend , Sweet Tooth aims for a classic dessert profile which is a staple in the e-liquid world , when executed properly . A mellow candied strawberry is the top note here . It ’ s not overly sweet and has a jam-like quality . This is less artificial than what you would usually expect from a dessert blend , which comes as a welcome surprise . The top note is supported by a satisfying but light custard base , adding a luxurious mouthfeel , without becoming overbearingly sweet . This makes for a well-balanced strawberry custard that can easily be vaped all day . The profile is rounded out by some botanical notes from the CBD , which don ’ t interfere with the flavour too much , especially considering the high concentration of the sample I have tested .
PURPLE STORM Throat Hit : Mild , with cooling
Purple storm is a more stripped-back blend of blackcurrant and cooling menthol . The top note is a sticky candied blackcurrant , which provides a good dose of sweetness , along with some floral notes , which are accentuated at higher wattages . It appears there is a hint of aniseed in the mix , but this could just be the slight medicinal notes of the berry , or perhaps the botanical flavour imparted by the presence of CBD . The profile is rounded off with an intense , soothing menthol kick , which lifts the berry flavour , subdues the botanical notes and results in a refreshing and light profile that ’ s ideal for warmer weather or clearing out the sinuses . Flavour from the CBD element of the mix is very subtle in Purple Storm , which can be attributed to the mentholated finish .
HOLY MOLY Throat Hit : Mild
Holy Moly is described as a custard donut blend by CBD Asylum . It ’ s refreshing to see manufacturers attempt to recreate more complex profiles in their CBD products , so how does this one fare ? The top note here is a wellbalanced bakery profile , reminiscent of commercial glazed donuts . It ’ s a good portrayal with a fluffy mouthfeel but isn ’ t so dense that it becomes cloying or outstays it ’ s welcome . This is complemented well by a light custard base , which gives a slight boost to the sweetness and adds some body to the mix , whilst mitigating any dryness that often comes with bakery flavourings . As is to be expected , there is a hint of the botanical aromas from the CBD , but it doesn ’ t distract from this pleasant dessert blend at all .
BERRY NICE Throat Hit : Mild
Billed as a pink berry blend , Berry Nice is the simplest flavour profile out of the CBD SUB ΩHM products that I have tested . This will be a familiar mix to any veteran vapers , with a slight twist that sets it apart from competing brands . The dominant flavour is a classic berry medley , which seems to consist of blackcurrant , raspberry and strawberry . They are well balanced and almost merge in to one . For the most part the berry mix comes across as candied , although there are some floral notes too , which adds authenticity to the profile . Berry Nice is finished off with some botanical notes from the CBD which complements the flavour profile brilliantly and seems to be more prominent when compared to the other CBD SUB ΩHM e-liquids .
CBD NANO SHOT
The Nano Shot is a truly unique idea that makes CBD products more viable for businesses looking to test the waters within this growing sector of the market . Described as an “ e-liquid enhancer ” by the manufacturer , the Nano Shot can be added to any short-fill e-liquid to create a 300mg equivalent CBD e-liquid . Effectively , this means that any of your favourite short-fill flavours can now be infused with CBD , which is likely to be a huge step forward in the eyes of many consumers . I found that the Nano Shot also caused minimal flavour change when added , so those who enjoy CBD , but dislike the flavour it can impart will get along very well with it . The Nano Shot makes CBD e-liquids a much more open-ended experience and I can see this becoming rather popular .
