REVIEW BY ALEX SHENKER X-PRIV 420 SPECS: THE CRATER 420 Size: 88x46.5x30.4mm Weight: 172g The Crater 420 is a portable dry herb vaporiser designed in the UK and assembled in China. It contains many different features and is incredibly user friendly and easy to set up. Power range: 1-225W Resistance range: 0.5V-9.0V Resistance range: 0.1-2.5ohm(VW)/0.05-2ohm(TC) Temperature range: 200-600f/100-315c Standby current: <500uA DESIGN 10/10 BUILD QUALITY 10/10 USABILITY 10/10 It’s a true convection vaporiser, meaning a better quality of vape as well as more thorough heating of the contents within the chamber. This does unfortunately take a bit of a toll on the battery life. The Crater 420 however utilises a USB port and can be charged quickly via any compatible outlet. The device itself feels great to use. The top portion of the unit is attached to the bottom via magnets and easily detaches revealing the heating chamber, which is very generously sized. There’s a single button at the front of the bottom which is used to turn the device on or off in five clicks, or to change the heating temperature. There are four different heat settings available to use on the Crater 420 depending on how warm you like your vaping experience. You can easily switch between them by clicking the button twice. There’s an LED above the chamber that changes colour depending which setting you’re on. Speaking of temperature, my favourite feature of the Crater is how quickly the chamber heats up. Having used other vaporisers in the past that take minutes to heat up, the 420 manages to do so in an impressive 30 seconds. A real gamechanger for me personally. The mouthpiece is well-designed, swivelling away from the device when you want to use it, and pushes back to be flush against the top of the device when not in use. The Crater is a versatile device fit for dry herbs, waxes and oils – a real bonus for a small portable device like this. In the box you also receive some spare mouthpieces, several tools for cleaning the chamber, spare screens and a couple of wax/oil buckets – everything you need to keep your Crater running for a good amount of time. My personal experience with the Crater 420 was incredible. It’s so easy to use, easy to set up and vapes fantastically. I’m truly amazed with the amount of features Crater have managed to cram into a small, portable vaporiser. I honestly can’t recommend this device enough. It’s suitable for experienced vapers or anyone looking to get into the world of dry herb vaporisers. Absolute perfection, in my opinion. VM16 | 167
