Heisenberg (The Berg) VG/PG ratio: 70/30 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Mild Vape My Day VG/PG ratio: 70/30 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Mild Drippy Liquids —Hippie Puffs VG/PG ratio: 70/30 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Mild Innevape are widely known in the US for their e-liquids, but Heisenberg seems to be the one that’s put them on the map. Not to be confused with the fruit/menthol combination that’s hugely popular in the UK, this Heisenberg is described as a blue slush profile. There’s a lot of debate as to what constitutes a true “blue slush” flavour, is it a pure candy raspberry, or some kind of mixed berry concoction? Heisenberg is decidedly the latter. A potent candy raspberry does seem to be the most prominent flavour here, but it is supported by an unusual berry medley. The berry accents work well to provide that curious “blue” accent that is sometimes missing from slush style e-liquids. A mix of blueberry and what seems to be bilberry are adding some floral notes whilst also bolstering the tartness of the profile. This is an interesting take on blue slush and well worth trying. Described as a blend of butterscotch, caramel and hazelnut, Vape My Day is a profile that could easily become sickly sweet without careful attention to detail. Butterscotch is clearly the dominant flavour here. It’s bold, rich and provides undeniable body to the mix. It’s not often we see butterscotch as a central flavour in the e-liquid world and I’m delighted to say it’s been done well in this case. This is enhanced by a light caramel top note which intensifies the already dark sweetness of the profile, without pushing it to cloying levels. These two flavours interact so well that they almost merge into one, a sign of good mixing. The profile is finished with a very subtle hazelnut accent. This adds some welcome depth to the blend, along with a distinctly gritty texture that some will appreciate greatly. This is a fantastic choice for those with a sweet tooth. Hippie Puffs is described as a berry crunch cereal blend. These kinds of profiles tend to be on the complex end of the spectrum, so competent mixing is required to get things right. The top note here is a subtle berry medley. There’s definitely some strawberry here, with hints of darker fruits. This doesn’t dominate the mix by any means, but it is the most noticeable element. A substantial helping of sweetened milk supports the fruit top notes, it’s not what I would describe as an authentic dairy flavour, but in the context of a sweet cereal blend it works nonetheless and adds a satisfying mouthfeel to the profile. The mix is rounded off with a moderate grain or cereal base which serves to add texture to the blend, whilst emphasising the breakfast cereal connotations. Hippie Puffs is a competent cereal blend that leans heavily into dessert territory, but still works. St33p Liquids — Ace VG/PG ratio: 70/30 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Mild Acaiz E-liquid — SML VG/PG ratio: 70/30 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Mild, with cooling TNT VG/PG ratio: 70/30 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Mild Ace is billed as a strawberry cheesecake with graham cracker crust. There’s a lot of competition in this genre of profiles, so how does this one measure up? The strawberry top note in this case is rather mellow, bringing a soft sweetness to the mix. Think of it as a light drizzle rather than a dominating note. This is supported by a heavy, dense vanilla cream that adds a substantial mouthfeel and some real weight to the profile. This is the star of the show and it’s a sweet but authentic portrayal of the rich, creamy element of a cheesecake. The profile is rounded off with a moderately potent graham cracker crust, which adds some texture to the mix, along with a darker sweetness that plays with the vanilla notes very nicely. Ace is a competent, if rather sweet, strawberry cheesecake. Strawberry, mango, lime, açai berries and a menthol finish. That’s a pretty bold range of flavours to fit into one e-liquid. Sweet candy lime is the most prominent flavour here. It brings some sweetness to the mix but still retains a hint of sharpness. This is complemented well by a more mellow candy strawberry, and whilst it’s nondescript it does fortify the sweetness of the lime. The açai berry is more of an accent and to my palate is so subtle that it could be mistaken for a more conventional dark fruit, it does work though, and stops SML from feeling flat. Unfortunately, I’m not really detecting any mango to speak of, perhaps it is simply getting lost among the more potent fruits here. The menthol finish is very mild and unobtrusive but works nonetheless. SML is an interesting profile, though some of the fruits are difficult to pick out. Innevape describe TNT as a blend of Virginia tobacco with a touch of maple. Tobacco profiles tend to be popular both with new vapers and veterans who seemingly refuse to vape anything else. TNT is a simple tobacco blend, which will be a relief for purists. A mellow, mildly nutty Virginia tobacco is the focus here. It brings a lot of dark sweetness to the table, along with a fairly authentic representation of the aroma of unsmoked tobacco leaf. This is entirely devoid of any artificial off notes that are sometimes present in Virginia blends and also avoids becoming harsh on the throat, a common issue in tobacco profiles. The main note is supported by a light maple syrup that amplifies the sweetness of the profile, making TNT an accessible and simple tobacco e-liquid. BY BENEDICT ‘NED’ JONES THE VAPER EXPO | 137
