REVIEW BY BENEDICT ‘NED’ JONES SALTED CARAMEL FUDGE DOUGHNUT PG/VG ratio: 50/50 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Moderate COOKIE DOH CINNAMON & CREAM PG/VG ratio: 50/50 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Moderate Another more ambitious profile from this bakery line. Doughnut is one of those flavours that can easily produce some undesirable off-notes if it’s not balanced correctly. The top note here is a warm caramel. It seems to have a slightly darker sweetness than what is found in Million Shortcake, but not to the extent that it begins to have bitter qualities. I’m not quite picking up on the fudge note here, but this may simply be due to the stronger caramel note that’s on offer. This is supported by a moderately strong bakery note, which adds a fluffy texture to the profile. To me, this tastes more akin to cake than a doughnut, but it works well in any case. As the name may suggest, Salted Caramel Fudge Doughnut is quite a rich vape, but it’s been executed quite well. Getting the balance right with cinnamon in bakery vapes is always a difficult job. I’m happy to say that the Bake N Vape team have done well in this case. The cinnamon top note is a bit more subdued than I’m used to, but this is not a complaint, since it gives the profile much more all day vape potential. The spiced note is complemented well with a subtle bakery accent. This boosts the sweetness of the mix, whilst acting as a bridge between the other flavours. The profile is finished with a light cream base that’s quite similar to what is found in Rice Crispy Treats & Vanilla Ice Cream. It bears the same authentic dairy notes but is not quite as potent here. The result is an interesting cinnamon dessert vape, which doesn’t become overbearing in the slightest. RICE CRISPY TREATS & VANILLA ICE CREAM PG/VG ratio: 50/50 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Moderate MILLION SHORTCAKE PG/VG ratio: 50/50 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Moderate This is a slightly more laid-back dessert from the Bake N Vape line. A grainy top note is the star of the show here. It’s not something we see very often in the vaping world, but it works very nicely. I’m not sure if I would pick it out as rice crispy treats without knowing beforehand, but it certainly has the right texture and is rather memorable. This is complemented by a dense creamy base. This has more of an authentic dairy cream note than a sweeter vanilla ice cream, but it works very well nonetheless, adding a substantial mouth-feel to the vape, without over-sweetening the profile. This is a moreish dessert blend that is a good choice for those who prefer simpler flavours. Million Shortcake is described as a blend of chocolate, fudge and caramel with a biscuit base. This is an ambitious profile, since both chocolate and fudge are notoriously difficult to capture in e-liquid form. Caramel stands out here, it’s a fairly light rendition, and brings plenty of sweetness to the mix, without the more bitter notes you would expect from a darker caramel. This is supported by a luxurious biscuit base which really sells the bakery connotations, whilst adding some body and texture to the profile. The chocolate and fudge notes are more of an accent, and I feel that’s for the best. They’re definitely noticeable, but do not overpower the mix by any stretch. This is quite rich as dessert vapes go but should please many vapers with a sweet tooth. VM21 | 183
