REVIEWS KENTUCKY This is a real tobacco lover’s vape, as are most of these flavours from Black Note. This liquid features a bold tobacco flavour with some nutty hints. There’s a real earthy vibe going on here, but I personally prefer a milder tobacco like some of the juices coming up. LATAKIA A real spicy, aromatic tobacco here, the intense, smoky tobacco is very peppery and helps create a fiery flavour that’s definitely something new and interesting. Not for the faint hearted though. VIRGINIA This is a classic American tobacco flavour, and a taste very familiar to anyone who’s ever rolled a cigarette. I’d say out of all the Black Note juices, Virginia gives you the most accurate smoking-like experience. BURLEY A slightly sweeter tobacco on display here with Burley. It’s a little bit rich on the initial inhale but the exhale is so smooth and leaves you wanting more. It really lifts the tobacco to higher levels. ORIENTAL Definitely one of my favourite tobacco juices ever, Oriental is a lovely smooth and heady tobacco flavour with hints of oriental spices that add so many different layers of taste it’s hard to stop vaping. If you’re unsure about tobacco juices give this one a try. CAVENDISH A real dark-tasting tobacco, super rich and very intense. If you’re looking for something with a strong tobacco flavour this may well be the juice for you. Personally, I found it a bit much but I’m not the biggest fan of this sort of flavour. Still an excellent example of a tobacco juice. This UK-produced e-liquid comes in a 3 x 10ml multi pack in nicotine strengths of 3mg, 6mg and 12mg. Upon opening the bottle, a nostalgic and fresh scent met my nose. Blackcurrant menthol was actually the first ever e-liquid flavour I tried. This time, however, I would be using an RDA setup rather than an ego/CE4 setup, and I would also be using a higher VG percentage e-liquid. I had an inkling that it was going to be so much better than before so I dripped some liquid on my cotton, in sheer anticipation. First came a subtly sweet yet juicy blackcurrant that made my mouth water. I didn’t think it tasted like authentic blackcurrants, however it did come across as candy- like, I think this is what the juice manufacturers were after anyway. I enjoyed the deep sweetness to the blackcurrant, it carried well and was not too overpowering in terms of flavour. As I began to exhale a slightly minty menthol hit the back of my throat, allowing a wave of coolness to rush around my mouth. It certainly felt cold and would be an ideal vape for vapers who like the iciness found in this juice. However, the menthol, for me, was a tiny bit harsh, but that is because I am no longer used to vaping menthol flavoured e-liquids, that is not to say it will be harsh for everyone. Vaping on ‘Tuned-Up’ gave impressive clouds, as the PG/VG was 30/70. Overall, I found that this juice took me way back to when I started vaping, and that in itself was a rewarding experience. As a juice, it ticked all the boxes, just the right amount of menthol mixed with a copious yet not too potent sweet blackcurrant. 220 | VM17
