SMOK X-PRIV BABY MOD SPECS : Tank capacity : 3.5ml ( 2ml with stopper ) Battery capacity : 1800mAh internal cell Power output : Dependent on coil Charging : Micro-USB
PROS - COMPACT , MINIMALIST DESIGN - GREAT PERFORMANCE FROM STOCK COILS - QUICK TO CHARGE CONS - MESH COIL PUSHES THE BATTERY TO ITS LIMITS - TANK CANNOT BE REMOVED FROM THE BATTERY
Pen-style sub-ohm starter kits have become increasingly common as the demand for simplified , high performance devices has risen . This kind of device is a great option for those looking to transition from smaller mouth-to-lung devices without breaking the bank , or even for someone who is looking for an alternative to tobacco products such as shisha , which naturally have a more open draw and produce more vapour .
The Vaporesso Cascade One is among the best sub-ohm starter kits that I have tried . It fits a lot into its relatively small 22mm diameter chassis and keeps things simple for those who are newer to vaping , or just want a hassle-free experience .
The Cascade One tank is the star of the show here . The TPD compliant version comes pre-installed with an easily removable silicone stopper . It has the potential to have 3.5ml capacity which is impressive considering its compact size . In the box are two coils that perform very differently from one another and so cater well to a variety of preferences .
The 0.18ohm GT Mesh coil will be the main point of interest for most people . It produces some great flavour and substantial , thick clouds . As with other mesh coils , the ramp up time is non-existent , and coil longevity is above average too , provided you steer clear of overly sweetened e-liquids . Whilst this does make for a fantastic vape , the lower resistance of this coil draws a lot of power from the battery , so expect to be reaching for the nearest charger on the regular , depending on usage of course .

CASCADE TANK

The other supplied coil is the CCELL2 , which is more to my tastes . It uses ceramic wicking , ostensibly to prolong coil life and increase flavour production . Coming in at 0.3ohms , it draws less power from the battery and during my usage this translated to me only needing to charge the Cascade One about half as regularly . The flavour is above average , and this coil can still kick out some serious vapour production . For every day usage , I found the CCELL2 to be more practical because of this .
The 1800mAh capacity of the Cascade One is reasonable for a compact kit , and the 2A quick charging is brilliant , taking less than 45 minutes from flat to a full charge in my experience . Quick charging is a fantastic quality of life feature that makes day to day use very convenient . Going forward I feel this is a must for pen-style sub-ohm kits .
Overall , the Cascade One is a fantastic entry level sub-ohm kit . It ’ s a breeze to maintain and use and performs very well . If you ’ re looking for a simple kit , you can ’ t go too far wrong with the Cascade One .
