Rev-Tech is still the new kid on the vape block. With such a wealth
of devices now available on the market, what does this fledgling
company bring to the table?
The Nitro 200W is an interesting mod that should be getting
your attention for more than just its unique motorsport aesthetic.
Coming in at the affordable end of the hardware spectrum, the
Nitro 200W feels very solid in the hand. It’s not the smallest dual
18650 device out there, but it’s by no means oversized either.
The smooth curve of the back, and smart fire button placement
make this device a joy to use. Every button gives a satisfying click
with each press, and there’s no rattle or unwanted play in the
construction to speak of.
The menu system on the Rev-Tech chipset has been well thought
out for both advanced vapers and newer users. When setting up
the device for the first time, you are presented with the option of
either “Basic User” or “Advanced User.” Choosing basic will lock
away the more complex settings, leaving you with a streamlined
wattage only experience, which will suit those who are newer to
vaping and help avoid confusion. Selecting the advanced option
will open up the myriad settings and options that are under the
hood of this device.
More and more hardware companies are marketing their devices
as having no delay between pressing the fire button and power
being supplied to the atomiser. The Rev Nitro is one of few
devices to truly back up this claim. Wattage output is smooth and
instantaneous and makes the whole experience very satisfying.
Even high mass builds with very low resistances fire up quickly on
the nitro, which is more than can be said for other devices in the
same price category, when pushed to their limits.
Aside from the pure wattage options, the Nitro also has a wealth
of more complex settings, allowing advanced users to tailor the
vaping experience to their hearts’ content. The temperature
control functions work well but are perhaps not the smoothest I’ve
used. The occasional resistance jump is slightly disconcerting,
but not to the extent that it noticeably affected my experience.
