BEHIND THE SCENES
AT THE VAPOUROUND
AWARDS 2018

At school I learned that the longest day of the year was the
summer solstice in June … but I have since learned that
my teachers were wrong.
The longest day in the year is actually when we hold the
annual celebration of the global vape industry, the day of
the Vapouround Awards.
This year it fell on May 4 and the Awards evening served
as the official after party for the end of the business-to-
business day of May’s Vaper Expo UK.
There were also scripts to write, a running order to plan and
a timetable to put in place.
There were more than a few late nights worked as
artwork was designed, videos were edited and the night’s
entertainment was planned.
Seeing the results of all the hard work come together on the
day was truly magical. We wanted to create an atmosphere
in the room which would have a wow! factor when people
walked in and the feedback was that it worked.
The working day for the Vapouround team tasked with
overseeing the Awards began at 7am and lasted into the
early hours of the following morning … but we loved every
moment of it. This was an occasion where months of hard work all came
together to produce a night of celebration and fun. This was
to be a night where we celebrate the achievements of an
industry which has every right to be proud of its amazing
successes.
In the months leading up to the event a small team of staff
were involved in booking the entertainment, planning the
night’s entertainment, organising the catering, selecting the
menu and producing the videos. Not only do we celebrate the achievements of our deserving
award winners, but we pay tribute to everyone in the vaping
industry who has worked hard to change the lives of so
many people for the better.
