The Punk 220 is another steam punk style mod from Tesla. The mod is
made of copper and feels very weighty in-hand. One of the nice things
about this mod is it feels well built, a solid construct. The sides have
a clear plastic covering allowing the internal cog style designs to be
visible. The internals also feature a LED light display that has a variety
of modes. The front of the device has a medium screen size with the
light option button and +/- buttons beneath. The fire button is large
and has a nice firm press which just adds to the build quality. The final
visual aspect is the battery door which is a slide and magnetise cover
that sits flush and firm with the shape. The problem with the battery
housing is wrapped batteries get stuck.
The device has multiple material modes and a featured TCR mode. The
variable wattage mode increases and decreases in 0.5 increments. The
menu of this mod is accessed by a three press system and this allows
you to cycle through the on screen options which lead to sub menus.
The power modes on this device are especially good for a variety of
tanks. I personally use a high wattage range sub ohm tank with this
and it reacts perfectly with the hard setting which fires up immediately
but may reduce the lifespan of the chosen coils. For the mouth to lung
tanks the soft mode is also perfect as it gives a delay and steady heat
up to a higher resistance coil. The Punk 220 also features a user mode
that allows the wave bands to be customised which is perfect for the
custom builds, making this device really universal.
Overall the device holds the battery well and has a selection of modes
that are suitable for all users. The power output is glitch free and makes
for a perfect vaping experience. The one issue I had with this device
is there is no off switch, although with five presses it locks and will
eventually go into a standby mode.
The build of this mod is outstanding and Tesla have cut no corners on
this front. With great looks and easy, step-by-step usability, this mod is
perfect for all users providing a suitable tank is found. Great job Tesla!
