As is often the case, visitors were especially impressed by vapes in the Vape Box and we had to turn down numerous offers from people wanting to buy them throughout the day. Leslie was one of a few locals to pop by multiple times during the afternoon. He’d gone from smoking 40 cigarettes a day to just a few here and there. He was confident that he’d quit for good by early 2018. “I’m still in that transition period and haven’t managed to completely switch just yet. But it will happen,” he said confidently. A little later on, I found myself caught up in a theological discussion with a Jehovah’s Witness. A small queue began to form beside the Vape Box, providing me with the perfect excuse to cut the conversation short.
