there is an alternative they can use
instead.”
Word of our presence spread fast as
business ramped up noticeably over the
next hour. As is often the case, visitors
were especially impressed by vapes in
the Vape Box and we had to turn down
numerous offers from people wanting to
buy them throughout the day.
Leslie was one of a few locals to pop by
multiple times during the afternoon. He’d
gone from smoking 40 cigarettes a day
to just a few here and there. He was
confident that he’d quit for good by early
2018.
“I’m still in that transition period and
haven’t managed to completely switch
just yet. But it will happen,” he said
confidently.
A little later on, I found myself caught up in
a theological discussion with a Jehovah’s
Witness. A small queue began to form
beside the Vape Box, providing me with
the perfect excuse to cut the conversation
short. Dr Salt and Lik Juice were proving
to be especially popular with the vapers –
as was our own Toffaccino e-liquid, which
seems to sell itself on smell alone.
“Ooh, that is nice,” Jan, a former 20-a-day
smoker said, before grabbing a copy
of the magazine, a goody bag and
presumably heading home to make an
order on our website.
And so we packed down for the day,
stopping occasionally to chat with passing
vapers. Once everything else was packed
away in the bus we unplugged the music
and headed home.
