VM: Speaking of expansion, your new shortfill range has really taken off. N: We deliberated about making Koncept XIX for a while due to the TPD. But everyone seemed to be doing it so we rolled with it and its gone down a storm. We’ve since taken it to Australia and New Zealand, and reactions over there have been just as positive. VM: Why do you like to be involved in the Vapouround Awards? P: We know most of the people in the industry so it’s great to get everyone together to catch up and enjoy ourselves. The Awards are friendly competition that helps the industry grow. VM: And they’re a laugh, too. P: Exactly. They’re not boring and corporate like some other ceremonies. Plus, it’s a great way to network and meet new people. VM: Any personal highlights from previous years? N: I won’t go into details just now but let’s just say that it’s always a laugh having Johnnie and Strawberry Queen up there! VM: What’s it like to come away with a gong? P: We’ve done pretty well for ourselves over the years. I think it’s fair to say that we’ve exhausted Heisenberg! But it’s not about winning. It’s just about being part of it. N: That said, if we don’t win something, there’ll be trouble [laughs]! VM: Are there any particular brands, ranges or individuals that you expect to see win big on the day? N: From a personal perspective, I’d like to see Iron Bruised up there as its a really hard flavour to crack but Riot Squad got it just right. I also really like the Malaysian style flavours but then I do have a bit of a sweet tooth. VM: What can we expect to see from you between now and the 2019 Awards? P: We’ve got some new ranges coming in 2018 so keep an eye out for these, its going to be another busy year for the Vampires. OFFICIAL SPONSOR VM15 | 107
