together, proper steeping processes,
and developing intricate flavour profiles,
but after a lot of bad batches, things
really started to click. Right about then
was when I realized making e-liquid
was something I found a lot of joy and

VM: When did you start in the vape
business?
LAURA: In 2014 I was part of a team
that manufactured a premium e-liquid
line. Back then the word ‘premium’
actually carried a standard with it that
meant high quality ingredients, mixed
in a clean environment, with quality
bottling and labelling. Over time,
the word ‘premium’ became heavily
overused and devalued.
Along with that, the hardware in the
industry started to become much
stronger and was quickly pumping out
products that created such a better vape
experience. Think the original Orchid
vs the TFV4’s, Herakles, Crown’s etc.
While the hardware game was and is
great, the downside was that these
devices began drinking juice, so your
$20.00 30ml bottle that used to last you
an entire week was now maybe good for
a day or two. After a while our customers
started coming to us and saying that
they loved the flavour of our premium
line, but that it was way too expensive.
That was how Flavor Monster was born.
We wanted to make vaping cheaper than
smoking again, and knew that if we still
kept the high quality we would have people
fall in love with our liquid and our company!
Flavor Monster started in 2015 and after
a few short months it became clear that
we needed to expand our operation.
We opened the Flavor Monster retail
location in 2016 and built out an ISO
7 equivalent lab to make our liquid.
We are now expanding our lab space
and automating lab processes as well
as marketing and general business
operations. We are very proud of the
work we have accomplished because
our goal when we started was to create
a great product, at a great price, while
providing a great customer experience
along the way. While we do not claim
to be a perfect company, we do claim
to always put our customers and
employees first, and trust that our hard
work will pay off. To this point, we have
been right so far.
