THE
So Vaper Expo UK 2016 has been and gone for
another year… well not quite.
Not content with holding an event
in May which was three times larger
than the pervious year, Vaper Expo
is coming back for a second time
this year.
Many of the exhibitors said they did not
want to wait a whole year until it came
round again so, by popular demand,
“Vaper Expo 2016 - The Return” will take
place at Birmingham’s NEC Hall 1 from
October 14 to 16.
This is the first Vaper Expo which has
been held since the TPD has become
law and the main effect is that the
organisers can no longer offer any
sponsorship deals but billboard and
banner advertising around the event
is still allowed as this does not infringe
on TPD advertising rules.
The organisers said: “Many of our UK
and European exhibitors already know
the ins and outs of the TPD and what
they need to do to comply but many
of our international exhibitors do not.
“A lot of people have been asking if
they can only sell 10ml bottles at the
event and the answer is ‘no.’
“We made sure that the second event of
this year was before the TPD regulations
are enforced on manufacturers.
You have until 20th November to make
your products compliant and retailers

have until the 20th May 2017 to sell
any existing stock that is not compliant.
“This means you can still come and retail
& wholesale your products, 30ml, 60ml
or 120ml bottles are still allowed and
retailers want to stock up as much as
they can as after 20th November they
will no longer be able to purchase them
directly from the manufacturer.”
All three days of the event will be
business to business days with Friday
being the main business to business
day and the Saturday and Sunday also
being business to consumer days.
The May event this year featured
110,000 sq ft of floor space, 230
exhibitors, 15,000 visitors and 1,800
B to B visitors.
One of the things the organisers have
learned from the shows they have
already held is that a lot of visitors
like to arrive early so that they can
be amongst the first in when the
doors open.
With this in mind, for the first time at
this event, the entrance queue will be
designed around a central entrance
stage with pre-show entertainment
and giveaways even before the
doors even open.
It is not unusual for early bird visitors
to turn up two or three hours before the
official opening time, so this time round
they will be entertained while they wait.
FOR THE PUBLIC
The Vaper Expo UK is the ultimate day
out for any vaping enthusiast. In addition
to hundreds of world-renowned brands
exhibiting, there is also a whole host
of entertainment to keep visitors busy.
Visitors can chill out, relax and rebuild
their devices in the purpose-built build
area and there will be many freebies,
give-aways and competitions during
the event.
A DJ will be at the Expo and the everpopular bar and chill out area is also
making a comeback too.
FOR THE TRADE
Friday October 14 is the dedicated B2B
only day which will allow shop owners,
distributors, sales reps, marketing
agencies and any other vape professionals
to network and make contacts.
Dedicated business seminars will also
be running throughout the day and ar e
a great way to get up to date with any
forthcoming legislation and offer practical
business advice.
