content that could satisfy a smoker
without any of the carcinogenic fallout of
regular tobacco.
This year Killian set up a development
studio in the facility. The dedicated room
is like a scientist’s lair with dozens of
bottles lined up for mixing and scenting.
Some have their tops off, while others
are tightly sealed as Killian waits for time
to do the real mixing. The air is replete
with soft flavours, some sharper notes
and an olfactory sensation of moving
through a grown-up sweet shop.
Each time Killian comes up with a
new product, it is put through rigorous
testing. George is at hand to regulate
the creative impulse. The company
recognises that when two elements
combine, there is possibility that a third
and unexpected result may occur. So the
base products are sourced from certified
suppliers and come with individual
certificates for each batch. Then the
four ingredients are blended and mixed
and tested. The blended product is then
placed in fermentation bulkheads for a
minimum of several months to as much
as nine, and in some cases a year.
And guess what, the fermented product
is tested again. Finally, the product is
packaged with the different nicotine
levels and bar-coded. Anyone buying
Wicked E Juice products can view the
batch number and results for every
single bottle of juice online.
However, Liquid Solutions did not stop
there. Uninformed reports of the dangers
of second hand vapour were beginning
to do the circuit. These reports were
based on visual similarity between
tobacco smoke and vapour plumes.
Vapour shares some visual elements
but it is more ethereal. In fact, vapour
disappears after just seven seconds,
while tobacco smoke can linger for more
than 20 minutes. In conjunction again
with J H G Analytical Services, George
has created independent tests to monitor
and confirm the lack of any dangerous
substances in vapour. All products
are tested for their emissions and all
conform to safety standards for potential
bodies present in the air. Again, these
test results are available online for each
batch of product.
In parallel with testing, Killian is
developing flavours and products,
including a tasty new range called
Heisen Blue. At the moment, there are
450 products under the Wicked Label,
all tested to within an inch of their
lives. The numbers also relate to the
different strengths of nicotine added to
the product, from 18mg down to zero.
In time, Killian will concentrate on just
thirty or so products to keep up with the
increas ing sophistication of vapers.
In the past month, Killian has also
introduced a new dripping range; fifteen
new dynamic flavours in the low to zero
nicotine levels beloved of drippers.
These are proving a huge success as
hobbyists are looking to enjoy dripping,
the throat hits and lack of nicotine.
‘Dripping is a game changer,’ says
Killian. ‘With little or no nicotine, we can
finally stop demonising the whole vaping
industry.’
By being ahead of regulations, Killian
has his eye on the international market
and intends to be a global player as
the market matures. His early reliance
on standards and quality enforcement,
positions him well in the newly regulated
world of vaping.
