Wellness is a broad topic discussed frequently in terms of physical and emotional well-being. The idea of wellness can mean many different things. In my award winning book, SHINE ON! I share several tips on how to use wellness to build greater self-esteem. Here are a few secrets to consider when thinking about wellness.

Creating Wellness

Some of my consulting clients have asked for guidance to better define what wellness is, in order to increase their success and draw abundance into their life. In SHINE ON! wellness is defined as feeling good on all levels; spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. For me, wellness is when I take my morning walk, and do the art of Tai-Chi. In your life where do you connect to wellness? Take a moment right now to write your favorite wellness routine. By creating daily moments of wellness you will build greater self-esteem, personal power, and confidence.

Boundaries and Wellness

Positive boundaries are a wonderful way to increase wellness on mental and emotional levels. When we allow ourselves to be overworked and overbooked, we become worn down, and physically ill. By creating healthy boundaries we are able to reduce stress and promote inner peace. Set a date in your calendar for a day of rest. Fill that page with your name, fun, and hearts, or stars! Make it a party! A do nothing day can be as healthy as pushing yourself to run or walk an extra mile.

Wellness and Balance

Wellness is about balance as much as boundaries. When we have balance we are able to increase focus and productivity. The feeling of balanced connection to inner peace that offers mental and spiritual relaxation. Our physical and spiritual well being also benefit from having balance in our lives, by decreasing stress. Take time every four hours to sit for ten minutes in silence. This time can be used for meditation, visualization, or nothing at all. This biggest part is to breathe!
