Project Name: Ozark Water Project
Summary: Ozark Water Project works tirelessly to meet the needs around the globe for clean drinking water. EAST partnered with Ozark Water, Valley View FCCLA (Family and Consumer Sciences), and Environmental Science classes in support of this mission. EAST students created logos and videos where were shared with the Valley View Community with the help of the PTA. FCCLA students joined the project and used their sewing unit to provide pillowcase dresses for children in Haiti. Environmental Science classes performed labs to study water quality with the use of maps created in ArcGIS. Videos were created and shared on social media as well as being shown in homeroom. The project was a success with over 500 pair of shoes donated.
Project Name: Media Team/Blazer Boosters
Summary: The EAST Media Team has taken on a primary role in the production of Football and Soccer events held on Medic One Field in Central Dealership Stadium. Students commit to the sports season and running the graphics and live action feed from the field which is then displayed on the jumbotron. A high level of professionalism is required from the students and they take great pride in their role. EAST also creates commercials as well as graphics to promote donors. During basketball season these skills are transferred to Blazer Arena and are showcased on television sets located in the gymnasium providing donor information as well as player highlights and accomplishments.
