YEARBOOK

Yearbook is a very good class for students to take their junior and senior year. In my video I show some of the work done in yearbook by students and interviews from seniors that work on the yearbook. In the class there are around 10 students every year and you have to have recommendation letters from 3 teachers, stating you are a good student and will be dedicated to working. The class is ran by Bryant Rushing who is also the FBLA leader and he teaches all the business courses at Valley View. The program used to create the yearbook is a web based software from Jostens.

We the People

We the People is a national group whose main purpose is to promote the understanding of the l principles and values within our political system. This year our We the People group consists of 22 students that have competed and won at the state level, and will soon be competing at the national level in Washington DC. For the past

couple of months, our groups goal has been to

raise money for our trip to DC. With the total

cost being around $38,000 to fund our trip,

much of our time and effort has been recently

put into fundraising and getting donations

from people and businesses. One of our recent

fundraisers included selling chocolate covered

strawberries and oreo balls. With the help of

our We the People group and some parents we

were able to successfully make and sell all of

the orders that were needed for this fundraiser.

It was a group effort that added over $1,500 to our total money for the trip. We are now preparing for our biggest fundraiser, a Pork Steak Sale. With our goal of selling more than 500 pork steaks at $20 a plate we would be left with a great profit to add to our grand total for Washington DC. With the money earned from our past fundraisers and our future ones, we should have almost enough money to cover our expenses for the trip. Any of the $38,000 not made in donations or fundraising will be split among all 22 students in our group so that we can fully cover the cost of our trip. We hope to make all our money through these fundraisers and donations so that we can all go and compete in Washington DC., and hopefully bring back a trophy.
