NEWTRAX:
TRANSPORTATION
SERVICES FOR THOSE IN
NEED
Newtrax is a nonprofit collaborative
organization that provides daily
transportation from home to work and
back for approximately 600 adults with
disabilities in the Northeast Metro. We
own a fleet of more than 45 accessible
vehicles and run our own dispatch center
and maintenance garage. Newtrax
was founded in 2011 by member
organizations Merrick, Inc. and PAI,
Inc. to create efficiencies and reduce
redundancies in transportation, IT and
financial management. Merrick and
PAI are nonprofit organizations that
provide vocational and life enrichment
services to adults with intellectual or
developmental disabilities. All three
organizations operate with a passion
about removing barriers to under-served
populations.

From the beginning, Newtrax has been
a shared endeavor with one vision:
safety, efficiency, collaboration and –
most importantly – responsiveness to
the unique needs of its clients. We’re
focused on meeting the growing
demand for transportation services and
are intent on creating partnerships with
community organizations that serve
seniors, residential providers of adults
with disabilities, faith communities,
and low-income individuals that
need transportation assistance to
find employment. We’re also working
towards keeping seniors and adults
with disabilities more engaged in their
community by providing access to
community events, outings and social
activities. Visit our website (below) for
more information.

CENTURY COLLEGE
FOUNDATION:
TRANSFORMING LIVES
FOR 50 YEARS
The Century College Foundation,
founded in 1973 by local philanthropist,
J. Stanley Hill, transforms the lives
of students by offering an array of
scholarships and other financial supports,
such as Random Acts of Kindness,
Emergency Grants and an on-campus
Food Pantry. Donations – sent to the
following address – help students on
their path toward self-sufficiency and a
brighter future.
Transforming Students’ Lives
James is a student who was called into
the office of the Union Pacific St. Paul
depot one day and was told of his
indefinite furlough due to his lack of
seniority. “There was nothing I could
do to regain my profession as a railroad
conductor,” James said. He took this
as an opportunity to fulfill his goal of
pursuing his education and perhaps a
different occupation. James received
the Mathematics Scholarship which is
supporting him toward his engineering
degree. James is thankful for the support
and encouragement of Century College.
