STORE HOURS Mon.-Sat. 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Sun. 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. The Boulder Junction Chamber of Commerce will hold the 57th annual Musky Jamboree Friday through Sunday, Aug. 9-11, featuring three days of family-friendly fun, music and fish. Festivities will kick off Friday night from 7 to 10 p.m. with live music by Hip Pocket at a street party near Coontail Corner. The fun will continue with a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. sponsored by the town of Boulder Junction. It will be viewable from the street party. American Legion Post 451 will be serving beverages and snacks. On Saturday, the Boulder Junction Historical Society Museum will be open for viewing from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., along with a brat and bake sale at the Community Center. At 11:30 a.m., the Picnic Theatre will perform “A 1940s Summer Vacation.” That same evening, from 4 to 8 p.m., the Vines, Rhythm and Brews Festival will be held at the Outdoorsman featuring music by Scott Kirby. All proceeds will be donated to the Boulder Junction Community Foundation. Activities Sunday will kick off early at 6 a.m. with registration for the fiveand 10-kilometer Musky Fun Run. The race will begin at 7:30 a.m. To register, visit tandhtiming.com. Main Street will be filled with activities for all ages and interests beginning at 9 a.m. More than 100 artists will fill Main Street with handcrafted items including furniture, fine art, jewelry, and more. “Don’t miss the Lion’s Club Flea Market at the Community Center,” said a club spokesperson. The 22nd annual Musky Day Car Show, sponsored by Boulder Beer Bar, will be a chance for new and experienced competitors to shine. The entry fee is $12 ($10 if preregistered) and includes dash plaques and a meal ticket for the first 80 cars. A 50/50 raffle will take place at the show. Live entertainment provided by Ron Harrison, Lakeland Community Band and Thee Weasels will continue throughout the afternoon on the Main Street stage. In The Musky Capital of the World®, though, fishing takes center stage. From 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Kids’ Casting Contest sponsored by WE Energies and Northern Highland Sports will welcome children age 14 and younger to show off their casting skills and compete for prizes. The Taste of Musky will provide treats at noon in the Junction Square parking lot. The moment of truth will be 11:30 a.m. when the Musky Award will be presented. The award is sponsored by Northern Highland Sports and recognizes the largest muskie caught during the 2012 fishing season. The juried art fair will be held at the park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with judging by Three Lakes artist Betty Lutzka. There will be approximately 40 exhibitors of paintings, pottery, jewelry, fiber art, wood carving and more. The gazebo will feature live music all day, alternating between Kettle Moraine’s Wild Violets and summer resident and musician John Higgins. There will be a raffle drawing for a camera and printer.
